Restaurants Around the AIPPI Yokohama Venue: Our Recommendations

With the AIPPI World Congress in Yokohama just around the corner, many participants are not only looking forward to the sessions but also to enjoying some of the city’s food culture. Here, we introduce a few restaurants near the Pacifico Yokohama convention center that we can warmly recommend.

ATTIMO

Google Maps | Website

If we had to recommend just one place first, it would be ATTIMO. The photo at the top of this article shows ATTIMO. Located right inside Pacifico Yokohama (Exhibition Hall 2F, ocean side), it is only steps away from the AIPPI venue.

This Italian restaurant offers panoramic views of Yokohama Port: bright ocean scenery by day, and the illuminated Bay Bridge by night. Its handmade pasta, authentic wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood, and seasonal vegetables from local farms all receive consistently high praise from guests.

DANZERO

Right next to ATTIMO is DANZERO, also overlooking the harbor. While ATTIMO focuses on Italian cuisine, DANZERO serves refined French dining.

The restaurant is known for maximizing the natural flavors of its ingredients, creating a sensory experience memorable not only for taste but also for presentation and aroma.

NADAMAN

For those who want to experience traditional Japanese cuisine, Nadaman is a must. With a history of over 180 years, this long-established restaurant is located inside the InterContinental Yokohama Grand Hotel, only a short walk from Pacifico.

Here, you can choose between three options: a Japanese dining room, a sushi counter, or a teppanyaki counter—making it a versatile introduction to Japan’s culinary heritage.

IPPUDO Minatomirai Tokyu Square

Google Maps | TripAdvisor

After introducing several fine dining options, here is a more casual choice: Ippudo, one of Japan’s most famous ramen chains. While many visitors may think first of sushi when it comes to Japanese cuisine, ramen is in fact at the very heart of everyday Japanese food culture.

Ippudo is a reliable and well-known name where first-time visitors can feel at ease. Please note that this is not a fine dining restaurant, but rather a casual spot ideal for solo diners or those looking for a quick and satisfying meal between conference sessions. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an authentic, everyday Japanese food experience.

A Short Stroll Away: Yokohama Hammerhead

If you are willing to walk a little further, cross the bridge south of the InterContinental Hotel (toward the Ferris wheel), and you will reach Yokohama Hammerhead, a new waterfront complex opened in 2019. It combines a cruise terminal, hotel, and dining facilities, and has quickly become a local landmark.

QUAYS Pacific Grill

Google Maps | Website

An American-style restaurant featuring its own coffee roastery, brewery, and gin distillery. The menu ranges from 100% beef burgers and crispy fried chicken to grilled specialties and seafood such as salmon and oysters prepared with international flair.

Del Mar COMEDOR Y TERRAZA

Google Maps | Website

A lively Spanish restaurant inside Hammerhead, specializing in fresh seafood. Diners can select ingredients directly and enjoy them cooked in authentic styles, from Galician-style octopus to richly flavored paella.

A Historic Landmark: Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

Continue even further south along the waterfront, and you will arrive at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. Originally built in the late Meiji and early Taisho periods as a government customs warehouse, it has since been renovated into one of Yokohama’s most iconic cultural and commercial complexes.

Bills

Located inside the Red Brick Warehouse, Bills is the creation of Australian chef Bill Granger, famous for what has been called “the world’s best breakfast.” Try the signature ricotta pancakes or silky scrambled eggs.

The Warehouse also hosts many other restaurants—so if Bills is crowded, you can easily find another place worth trying as you stroll around.

Yokohama Chinatown

Japan’s largest Chinatown, established after Yokohama opened as a port in the 19th century. While similar districts exist worldwide, Yokohama’s version is known for its colorful gates and lively atmosphere.

Kaseiro & Chungking Honkan

Kaseiro | Chungking Honkan

From Pacifico Yokohama, Chinatown is a bit farther—about a 30-minute walk, or you can take the Minatomirai Line to Motomachi-Chukagai Station for a more convenient trip.

Two standout restaurants consistently recommended across multiple guides are Kaseiro and Chungking Honkan. Both are long-established and highly regarded, making them excellent choices if you want a sit-down meal.

That said, Chinatown has countless eateries, so you can also simply explore and step into any place that looks appealing. In recent years, “street food hopping” has become especially popular—grabbing small bites like dumplings or buns from shopfronts while strolling through the lively streets. It is a fun, casual way to experience the atmosphere without committing to a full restaurant meal.

Bottom Line

Whether you are looking for fine dining, a casual grill, or a taste of Japanese tradition, the area surrounding the AIPPI venue offers something for every mood and schedule. In addition, Queen’s Square Yokohama, which is directly connected to Pacifico Yokohama, offers a wide variety of restaurants. It is a convenient option for those looking for a casual meal nearby. We hope this guide helps you enjoy not only the Congress but also the flavors of Yokohama.
