Takaoka IP is pleased to announce that Mr. Kenichi Nagasawa, one of Japan’s most respected intellectual property practitioners, is joining us as an advisor. Mr. Nagasawa brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will further enhance our firm’s IP practice and strengthen our commitment to providing unwavering support to our clients.
Mr. Nagasawa, who currently serves as an Advisor to Canon Inc., assumed the role of Head of Intellectual Property & Legal Headquarters at Canon Inc. in 2010 and later became a director of the company in 2012.
With extensive international experience, Mr. Nagasawa served as Senior General Manager of Canon Europe Limited from 2001 to 2006, and he joined as Senior Director of Canon USA Inc. from 2008 to 2010. In 2015, Mr. Nagasawa was officially commended of “Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office Awards” as part of the “Intellectual Property Achievement Awards” presented by the Japan Patent Office.
Mr. Nagasawa’s in-depth knowledge of geopolitical risk has earned him numerous requests to speak at seminars throughout Japan. Having served for many years as the head of intellectual property for one of Japan’s leading companies, he is known for his extensive knowledge in various facets, from negotiating contracts with other companies to establishing robust organizational systems.
Our Public Relations Department is enthusiastic about organizing internal and external seminars under Mr. Nagasawa’s leadership, with the aim of significantly improving our organizational capabilities and expanding the knowledge base of our staff.
